Beyond the Bin: Demystifying the Journey of Waste at Penn

WasteWise at Penn (WWP) will be hosting an expert discussion titled “Beyond the Bin: Demystifying the Journey of Waste at Penn” on October 15th, from 11:00-12:00. The purpose of this event is to demystify the waste journey for our campus community by providing a firsthand look at where various waste streams go after they leave Penn. Featuring experts from Waste Management (WM) and Environmental Health & Radiation Safety (EHRS), the session will explore how a Materials Recovery Facility operates, trace the lifecycle of a recyclable item, discuss the fate of chemical and medical waste, and ultimately empower students with the knowledge to become better waste stewards.
