Birding in the Woodlands: A Partnership with In Color Birding

Thursday
October 17, 2024
12:00pm - 2:00pm
The Woodlands Cemetery 4000 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104
BIrds

Come join the Environmental Innovations Initiative in partnership with the In Color Birding Club for birding in the Woodlands! The Woodlands is an excellent birding spot, and during this fall event, we can expect to see plenty of songbirds, raptors, and other migrants that will be making their way South.

We plan to meet at the front gates and move at a slow pace on a paved path with gentle slopes in some areas.

This event is great for anyone who is an experienced or casual birder, or anyone who has been curious about birding but doesn't know where to begin. We welcome anyone and everyone to join us! Please register here so we can estimate attendance and how many binoculars to have available.
Hope to see you there!

In Color Birding Club

Started in 2021, the In Color Birding Club aims to create a positive birding experience for BIPOC individuals and their allies. They prioritize inclusivity and equity by organizing events that break traditional norms, partnering with venues to amplify BIPOC voices, and exploring historically underserved parks. Their outreach focuses on meaningful, long-lasting human interactions within these communities. They also strive to inspire youth by fostering safe and inclusive spaces, encouraging more black and brown faces in nature, and creating pathways for them to thrive outdoors.
