The climate emergency is a health emergency. Deans and leaders from Penn's health schools--the Perelman School of Medicine, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Policy & Practice--will come together to discuss the critical challenges arising from the impact of climate change and the planetary crisis on health and health education.
Deans will provide insight into the ways in which climate is felt in their discipline and how they are addressing it across their education, research, and clinical missions. Event attendees will be asked to engage and reflect on questions of how the health schools can work across disciplinary boundaries to meet the challenges posed by the climate crisis and create a healthier planet.
The event is open to the Penn community.
Have a question or discussion point for the deans about climate and health? Send it to contact@environment.upenn.edu with the subject "Climate and Health" to inform the event discussion and Q&A.
Hope to see you there!
