Tiny Plastics, Big Impacts

Tuesday

3:00pm - 4:30pm
College Green - Climate Week Tent
Tiny Plastics, Big Impacts Flyer

Join us for a powerful pop-up event during Climate Week, focused on reducing single-use plastics. Experts from Penn and local organizations will discuss the dangers of microplastics and share practical solutions. Eat credit-card-themed cookies as a stark reminder of the micro and nano plastics we consume weekly, and learn how to take action with Philadelphia’s plastic bag ban.

Collaborating with university sustainability offices, international environmental organizations (Waterroots, EarthEcho), and local partners, this event seeks to startle students with a physical display of the amount of plastic we consume weekly. Our goal is to significantly raise awareness, engage the university community in sustainability efforts, and encourage a tangible commitment to reducing plastic usage. With posters for students to sign and pamphlets on microplastic waste, the event will influence plastic perceptions on campus.
